Elsewhere in the world this week...

A quick search for new Yarnbombing articles today turned this up:

Yarnbombing Belfast is on Facebook, showing us how they're changing the urban landscape and beautifying their city. Catch a great interview with Siobhán Barbouron on BBC Radio Ulster's Arts Extra show with Kim Lenaghan on July 28, HERE. Siobhán's bit begins at about 9:30 in the track time.

Ladies' Fancywork Society Get What They Deserve

Hooked! Crew send their high-fives out to the Ladies' Fancywork Society this month, after finding these vids on Juxtapoz Magazine's website, about their latest Street-Art-For-Hire deal with the City of Denver. Not only are they working hard to make 16th Street prettier, but they're involving their community by inviting them to crochet some flowers to add to this art garden, and they're getting paid for it! Way to go, LFS!

See? Everyone loves yarnbombed flowers. Now grab your hooks girls and boys, and see what a few extra handmade flowers can do for your community!

Our First Newspaper and More Yarn Love

We so love living in a community that is so supportive of the arts. Imagine our bliss to see this in the paper July 15th!

"These lovely knitted and crocheted decorations mysteriously made their way into the trees at Jesse Turgeon Park beside the Guild a few weeks ago. No one seems to be able to identify who created them or why, but we do know we like them!"

So in thanks, we had to visit the Voice offices and leave a little something on their door.

We had some other stops as well...

Elsewhere in the world this week...

A bit late this weekend, but here are some gems from around the world this week.

Mark Maynard posted this on his blog and YouTube recently.  I like how he showed his kid how cool this is.

This pretty tree was on Flickr (and look! The picture posted all right!) by Quoin. with the caption, "What a beautiful sight! :) ".

We agree!!

Okay, is this your dream job ad?  The San Jose Yarnbombing Crew was recruiting for the SubZERO festival that took place on June 4, 2010. This pic was posted on the Check out the post for a full picture of this incredible tree all decked out.

Elsewhere in the world this week...

It's July! Summer is in full swing and the crazed masses are out enjoying the weather and ... yarn bombing! I've just finished a piece I'm excited about, but I haven't installed it yet because I'm looking for the perfect place! I'll post pics when I do.

And hey look! I found a few gems posted around the net this week. Enjoy!

My dog sighs posted this cool picture on Flikr, of a street bench in progress. Very nice! Unfortunately, Flikr won't let me post this pic. Or maybe it's because I'm a Flikr idjit.. I don't know.

Christina of Christina Creating blog posted this beautiful piece.

"Apparently the owner of the store next door, 'Cross the Street Collectibles, started the project as part of the "Arts in Motion" day the town was having today (Saturday)."

What better way to celebrate the arts than public installation?!

Finally, The Yarn Craft Rebel over at the blog, Yarn-Bombing-Hay-On-Wye shared a bit of poetry with us this week. I had to share it with you.

Oh I am a Happy Hooker,
Craftiti is my fun,
I like to bomb creatively
and inspire everyone!
So pick up your crooks and kneedles,
some fibres, and from a fellow crafter,
learn to ravel it into lovely knots,
and craft happily ever after : )

Pick up your crooks and kneedles and make some public art today. Then, come and tell us about it!
